Kwik-Klik’s combined technical, installation and graphics expertise ensured that over 600 linear metres of PVC hoardings and temporary structures were installed seamlessly throughout the Glasgow Emirates Arena when it successfully hosted a 6-day Davis Cup international tennis tournament in September 2022.

Working closely with the event organisers, Kwik-Klik planned, specified and installed bespoke hoarding configurations in several locations throughout the giant multi-sports complex. Our installations included 1m high perimeter hoardings for two practice courts within the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome (see below).

We also created temporary segregated areas for TV studios, coaching teams, tennis officials, the media and VIP break out and refreshment areas within the spacious sports hall adjoining the main spectator arena.

Flexible, safe partitions with premium branded graphics

Great credit goes to the event organisers for converting the vast multi-sport Glasgow Arena facility into a single sport venue ready to host a prestigious 6-day international televised event. Kwik-Klik is proud to have assisted the tournament team with the configuration , co-ordination and installation of the required temporary structures, all delivered to very tight and immovable deadlines.

The most intensive work area for Kwik-Klik was the sports hall where several runs of our 3 metre high Freestanding hoarding system were deployed to segregate TV studios, coaching teams, officials, media and VIPs.

Event-specific large format graphics, as seen above, were applied to the PVC partition structures to reflect the profile of the event and to aid wayfinding within the re-purposed sports hall.

Official tournament and sponsor’s logos were applied throughout in several locations by our experienced Graphics team to maintain the brand consistency required for a world class event. The competing teams were Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Nederlands and USA.

Site-specific noise reduction fixings were built-in

Additional soundproofing for 3 TV studios was provided by Kwik-Klik, working in conjunction with an external sound and acoustic specialist. Following a detailed on-site survey a tailored sound-repression and deflection system featuring acoustic curtains was designed to have a minimal visual impact on the configuration of the temporary structures within the sports hall.

In addition to 600 linear metres of PVC Freestanding hoarding, Kwik-Klik artworked and installed over 700 square metres of graphics which were applied in 16 locations withing the Emirates Area complex. 14 single digi-lock secure personnel doors were built in to the various rooms and enclosed areas created.

Sustainable, re-usable systems with no compromise on quality

All components of the PVC hoarding systems were 100% re-usable and Zero Waste to Landfill sites was generated during the project. You can view more Davis Cup details in our case study.

On-site installation, which included the seamless combination of configuring the PVC partition systems and applying graphics, was achieved successfully in an intensive five day period in the run-up to the tournament. Kwik-Klik’s hoardings and graphics teams were allocated strict time slots for access to their work areas and co-operated fully with the organisers and the venue’s event teams. After the tournament the Kwik-Klik team were on-site to de-mount and remove the re-usable systems and this was completed in 3 days.
