Kwik-Klik installed an 8 linear metre run of indoor Clip to Scaffold SR3 hoarding to screen the replacement of an entrance door and to allow remedial work to the stonework around an entrance at Manchester Art Gallery.
A bespoke ground level Clip-to-Scaffold hoarding with an SR3 high security rating was required to make the building secure on the inside and outside during the refurbishment works.
Detailed structural drawings and a full SR3 specification were submitted prior to the hoarding installation due to the weight of the 150kg panels and the 4m high scaffold frame.
Constricted work space
The installation within a constricted workspace took 4 days (in two phases) and was delivered on time to meet very tight deadlines.
An electric spider crane was used to lift the SR3 ceiling panels into position to create a fully ‘boxed off’ work area and an SR3 rated double leaf steel door was built into the hoarding to allow secure access for trade teams.
The re-usable hoarding will be in place for 12 weeks.
