Kwik-Klik designed and installed a bespoke temporary Fire Rated sealed hoarding to allow the installation of a large fast action door at the National Science Museum at RAF Wroughton in Wiltshire.

The 7m high Fire Rated sealed hoarding was installed around the area where the fast action industrial door will be installed by cutting into the existing partition wall within the National Collections Centre of the National Science Museum.

The National Collections Centre cares for thousands of large and small objects in the Science Museum Group Collection, including the cars seen in one of the photographs. The new doors will enable the museum team to move large artefacts between the bays in the museum.

100mm Fire Rated panels were used to create a full-height 10 linear metre sealed-box hoarding with steel scaffold supports at height to ensure maximum stability. A spider crane was used to lift the panels into place.

A sealed hoarding was required to maintain a dust-free environment as some artefacts in the collection are extremely sensitive to dust and moisture.

The temporary box-hoarding was removed after the industrial door was installed.
